September 2018.
WELCOME BACK to my webpage! I'm so excited to begin our new school year! I'm starting to lose count, but if I've done my math correctly, this is my 35th FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! WOW! Aside from the age thing I was just thinking about, I'm still very excited! And, with all of the opportunities that we now have in our field of education, I hope you are just as eager about learning as I am teaching! I hope you all enjoyed your time away from school; I had an eventful summer vacation! While playing make-believe with my kids and doing real-life mom stuff (usually all at once), I not only watched my children grow three months older by the minute, I celebrated each one of their birthdays. Julia is now ten, entering the fifth grade--that's MIDDLE SCHOOL; Meridith is six, beginning first grade, and Joe turned four!--he will be attending another year of preschool! I say this every year, but this was probably my best summer yet! My family and I made some amazing memories, and I continued with my personal commitments in my health and fitness challenges. Now, last year I trained for and raced in five triathlons, vacationed in northern Michigan, and traveled to Hawaii (OF COURSE that was amazing)! And this year we took a lot of the cardio training out of our workout routines and focused on strength (which we can do right at home because we have a little gym in our basement)! As you can see, family and fitness are my true loves. Needless to say, I was pretty busy! But, as the summer came to an end, I became really excited to prepare for another new school year with you! I worked hard at creating a new, fun atmosphere in my classroom; one that I think most of you will appreciate and love! Please take the time to visit my website frequently, as I'm constantly updating and changing things. I will always maintain my Planbook--it's the place you should go to first if you ever miss any assignments! Google Classroom will be our online-classroom, and of course, we will always meet in room 306 to create authentic learning experiences! Let's make it a great year! I love being your teacher, Mrs. Hasley |
